To enable Automated DNS Instructions Emails, first create an Email Sender Signature. To learn how to create an Email Sender Signature, read our guide on Email Sender Signatures.

For custom domains to work, your users will have to add one or more DNS records to their DNS management system. This may be simple for you, but for many users, this is a terrifying experience. People are afraid of messing up, and we understand, DNS providers are not known for their user-friendly interfaces.

This leads to users contacting your customer support and wasting their precious time trying to make the custom domain work.

Enter Automated DNS Instructions Emails, an amazing way to save time and guide your users in setting up their DNS records.

The best part? If you created an Email Sender Signature, sending Automated DNS Instructions Emails is just a click away.

Whenever you create a custom domain, you can provide the email address where we'll send the instructions. Works both in UI and the API.

When the custom domain is created, we'll send an email with detailed instructions on how to set up the DNS records.

White-labelled CNAME

If you want to use an intermediary white-labelled CNAME instead of in.saascustomdomains.com, edit the CNAME record in your account settings.

Navigate to the Accounts view section and click View, then Edit Account for the account where you want to use a custom CNAME.

Update the CNAME field with your preferred white-labelled CNAME, then click Update Account button.

This allows you to maintain your brand identity when using Automated DNS Instructions Emails.

For white-labelled CNAME to work, you have to point it to in.saascustomdomains.com.

For example, if you want to use domains.myapp.com as a custom CNAME, create a CNAME pointing domains.myapp.com to in.saascustomdomains.com.

Now you know everything there is to know about Automated DNS Instructions Emails.

Until next time, keep building!
