What is an email sender signature?
With SaaS Custom Domains, you can send Automated DNS Instructions Emails to users when they create a custom domain in your app. These emails contain detailed instructions on how to set up DNS records for the custom domain to work. They are truly amazing because of how much time they save. You should check them out!
But, if we sent this email to your user from our [email protected] address, they could get confused — "Why is someone from saascustomdomains.com sending me emails?".
This is where email sender signatures come into play. The email sender signature is an email address you connect to SaaS Custom Domains so we can send emails to your users on your behalf.
If your email address is [email protected], the user will receive an Automated DNS Instruction Email from the familiar [email protected] instead of [email protected] which they have never seen before.
Get started
To start, visit the email sender signatures page in your dashboard.
Click the button to create the new sender signature.
The "From" email is the email address you want us to use for sending emails to your users. It must be an existing email address. Don't worry, you can continue using this email address as before even after you connect it to SaaS Custom Domains.
The "From" name is the name that will be shown to users alongside your email. We recommend using Team, Support, or a similar name. Email clients combine the "From" email and "From" name to show the full sender info like: Team <[email protected]>.
The "Reply-To" email is the email address where you want to receive replies. In most cases, it should be the same as the "From" email.
Fill in your details and click the "Create Sender signature" button.
Your signature should be created.
The email sender signature is not ready for use yet. Please check the inbox of the email you just added as a sender signature. You should have received a confirmation email from our email service provider — Postmark.
Please click the "Confirm Sender Signature" button. You should be redirected to Postmark's success page.
That's it, congratulations! You've created an email sender signature and SaaS Custom Domains can send emails to your users on your behalf.
